Tanzanian Female Owned and Operated Tour Company
Welcome to Safari 4 Change. We have dedicated ourselves to offering top quality mountain treks to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru along with wildlife viewing safaris in northern Tanzania (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Arusha National Parks), and beach/cultural holidays in Zanzibar. We are Tanzanian owned and operated. The founder/CEO of Safari 4 Change is Ms Salome Hamissi. She had lived in the US (Iowa and Minnesota) for 11 years. During that time, she was amazed how many people were interested in an Tanzanian trip but hesitant to book with a company that might not understand US tastes and standards. She returned to Tanzania, proud to show the beauty of her native Tanzania to her foreign friends. She also saw how tourism can help not only the company employees, but the entire communities nearby the tourist destinations. Out of this Safari 4 Change was founded.
We strive to offer the best experience possible for our guests who have entrusted us with organizing and operating their dream holiday. Safari 4 Change is a "Quality First Company". We include what is needed to make your tour the best possible experience and let the price be whatever it takes to offer this quality. This means we are not the least expensive company. There are many ways to make a tour cheaper, but that involves taking away quality and in some instances taking away safety. But that would take us far away from our core values, so we do not go that direction. But Safari 4 Change is far from being the most expensive company because we are locally owned and operated so we do not have offices outside of the country to support. We do not hire outside marketing companies but rely on person to person recommendations.
Why the name Safari 4 Change? Because a holiday through our company will result in change. Change in the economy of Tanzania through local employment. Changes due to our support of local projects which we donate a percentage of our profits to. And just as important, the change is in yourself that you will discover after your trip. Whether it is by overcoming physical and mental boundaries to scale Mt Kilimanjaro, or through experiencing the wildlife on safari, or spending time with the local cultures, nothing will be the same as before. The Swahili word "safari" simply means "trip". Outside of Africa it has come to mean a trip exploring wildlife in its native environment. With over 40% of its land protected for wildlife, it is easy for any trip in Tanzania to be a safari.
Price Quotes & Booking and Payment Procedure
When you are ready for more specific information or a price quote, please contact us. You do not need to have all your trip details in place, such as exact dates, number of participants or even an exact itinerary before you contact us. We can work these things out together.
Once we have settled in on an itinerary we will require an initial payment. This payment is scaled according to what advance payments we need to make to secure your accommodations and trip date. For mountain treks and/or camping safaris we request a 20% deposit. For lodge/tented camp safaris and/or Zanzibar bookings we request a 50% deposit. For any domestic flights that we book (fly-in/fly-out safaris, Zanzibar flights, etc) we request 100% of the flight cost in addition to the trip deposit.
There is no time restriction for the initial deposit but reservations will not be made until the payment has been received. The final payment is not due until your arrival in Tanzania
Payments are all quoted in US Dollars and per person. We accept initial payments as direct wire transfers (either bank to bank or through service such as Remit). At this time we cannot accept bank card (debit/credit) payments. Our bank account is a Tanzanian USD account.
Postponements - In the event that after booking your date must be postponed, 100% of the recoverable amount will be available for travel with Safari 4 Change on a future date. By recoverable amount we mean that due to booking through third parties such as accommodations or flights, their refund policy may not allow 100% of the payment to be refunded.
Cancellations - In the event that part of your group that you are traveling with needs to cancel, the recoverable deposit amount can be applied toward payment of the rest of the group. Note that if the group size is reduced due to some participants cancelling, the price per person for the trip will need to be recalculated according to the new group size.
In the event that you must cancel your trip completely, the recoverable amount less $100/person and less bank transfer fees will be returned to you through wire transfer.
We are ready to respond to your questions and booking requests.
